2h 30minAbout this event
Learn lace knitting in a way that feels totally doable. In this one-night class we’ll cast on the Reyna shawl (a small scarf/shawlette) to explore classic lace techniques without needing to follow charts. I’ll also show you how to use lifelines so you can relax and enjoy the process.
What we’ll cover
- Yarn overs + decreases (and how lace “works”)
- Keeping track of repeats with simple counting + stitch markers
- Fixing common lace mistakes (without ripping everything out)
- Lifelines: when to add them and how they save your sanity
- Quick blocking tips so the lace opens up beautifully
Who it’s for
- Adventurous beginners and up
- You should be comfortable with knit and purl (no lace experience needed)
What you’ll leave with
- A confident start on your Reyna shawl and the know-how to keep going at home
What to bring
- 3.5mm circular needles (80cm length)
- A few stitch markers
- A tapestry needle
- A length of scrap yarn or dental floss (for adding a lifeline)
Yarn is included in the workshop. Spaces are limited — book your spot early so I can give everyone plenty of hands-on help.
