*A note on needles: I recommend 16” (40cm) for the main body of the hat or 32” (80cm) if using the magic loop method. A second needle is used to hold on to the stitches from the provisional cast-on which will be worked into the pattern once the brim is folded. The second needle can also be used when working the crown decreases if you’ve chosen to use the 16” circular for the body of the hat. The needles do not need to be the same length.
