CaMaRose Helena's Hat Pattern
Helena's Hat is a beautiful hat with a nice fit. The hat is worked bottom up and in the round on a circular needle. In the end, a change to double pointed needles is made, or you can use the magic loop method. The hat is onesize, but depending on the gauge, you can obtain different sizes.
The hat is knitted in Snefnug.
You can obtain different sizes on the hat, depending on the gauge:
With a gauge on 14 sts x 24 rows per 10 cm, the hat fits a head circumference on 58-61 cm.
With a gauge on 15 sts x 24 rows per 10 cm, the hat fits a head circumference on 54-57 cm.
With a gauge on 16 sts x 24 rows per 10 cm, the hat fits a head circumference on 50-53 cm.
Yarn: 1 Skein SNEFNUG (55% alpaca, 35% cotton and 10% extra fine merino wool)
Suggested needle size: 6 mm circular needle (40 cm) and 6 mm double pointed needles.
Always choose the needle size that gives you the correct gauge. Making a swatch before casting on is ALWAYS recommended to ensure that you are using the needle size, that will give you the right fit. The yardage required for the swatch is NOT included in the above.
