Your perfect summer project has arrived. The Prairie Flower Market Bag is the kind of make that looks far more impressive than it is to stitch — a structured, elegant bag worked in airy diamond lace and shell eyelet that's as practical as it is beautiful. Sling it over your shoulder for the farmers' market, the beach, or anywhere your summer takes you.
About the pattern
Designed for intermediate crocheters, the Prairie Flower Market Bag is crocheted from the bottom up, beginning with a sturdy oval base in double crochet. From there, the body builds up in a gorgeous diamond lace pattern before transitioning to a delicate shell eyelet edge at the top. The strap is worked in two halves with simple shaping, then joined with single crochet for a clean, polished finish. The pattern download also includes links to video support — so if you get stuck at any point, help is only a click away. Clear, well-written, and satisfying to work — this one's a keeper.
Pattern is written in US crochet terms. Skill level: Intermediate.
About the yarn
Each kit includes five skeins of BC Garn Lino — and honestly, it's the perfect match for this project. This fingering-weight linen yarn is crisp and luminous straight from the skein, but here's the thing about linen: it only gets better. With every wash and wear, Lino softens beautifully, developing a supple drape that makes the lace patterning really sing.
Spun and dyed in Serbia from premium Italian flax using vegan-friendly dyes, Lino is naturally moisture-wicking and breathable — exactly what you want in a warm-weather make. Sustainable, timeless, and genuinely lovely to work with.
